Job summary

OakPointe Senior Care & Rehab Center in Detroit, MI is seeking a Patient Accounts Billing Coordinator to supervise inpatient/outpatient billing, posting, and collections within our EPIC team. This is a full time position.

You will review patient billing coverage, ensure accurate timely billing by staff, and assist with Medicare/Medicaid, private insurance, and HMO billing while maintaining HIPAA compliance and exceptional customer service. This 8-hour shift role offers full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 1-3 years of related experience in Accounts Receivable, Billing or Healthcare.
• Basic knowledge of insurance guidelines, medical terminology and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and process inpatient/outpatient charges, posting, billing and collection operations.
• Screen and review applicants to determine patient billing coverage and benefits exhaustion.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing by staff and maintain proper submission, billing and payment cycles.
• Assist with billing for Medicare, Medicaid, Private Medical Insurance and HMOs.
• Monitor billing and collections ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
