Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a day-shift, full-time Cardiology HOPD Clinic Patient Advisor in Pocatello, ID. You will handle the clinic's patient billing processes, verify insurance, obtain prior authorizations, and assist patients with billing questions and charity options.

The role communicates with physicians, the billing office, and HIM to ensure accurate coding and timely reimbursements in a hospital outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience dealing with insurance payers and the preauthorization and denial process.
• Writing/editing skills necessary to produce appropriate documentation and communications.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing the financial process for patients of the clinic.
• Verify insurance benefits, obtain pre-authorizations for services provided, submit appeals, and/or retro-authorizations.
• Advocate for and assist patients regarding the billing process, insurance terminology, and co-pay and charity assistance.
• Research billing and reimbursement practices for correct diagnosis coding and procedures; coordinate with physicians, billing office, and HIM.
