Qualifications

• 0-2 years of admissions, customer service and/or public relations experience required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients efficiently and accurately in the registration system and obtains signatures on forms.
• Verifies insurance coverage and identifies plan codes for accurate billing.
• Explains ABNs and other legal/financial documents to patients and families as required.
• Counsels self-pay patients on costs, options and resources.
• Maintains patient valuables and logs them for safekeeping.
• Places patient identification armbands for accurate care during stay.
• Reads physician orders to determine registration processes.
• Notifies departments/physicians of arrivals and follows up on delays.
• Assists with bed assignments and coordinates with nursing staff.
• Operates multi-line phones and relays messages promptly.
• Supports emergency codes and facility safety plans.
