Job summary

Sierra Medical Center in Sparks, NV is hiring an admissions clerk to manage efficient intake of inpatients, outpatients and emergency visits. You will verify patient information, review insurance details, explain hospital policies and direct admissions paperwork to the right departments.

The role requires strong customer service, clear English communication and the ability to handle sensitive information in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Excellent customer services skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for obtaining all pertinent information including demographic and insurance information.
• Responsible for ensuring that all admissions forms are complete and accurate, spelling is correct.
• Provides information to the patient/representative about billing, complaint process, patient rights, HIPAA and visiting hours.
• Responsible, when previous arrangements have been made or a co-payment is required, to collect such payments, record payment and forward to the business office personnel.
