Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Inpatient Coordinator to admit patients, initiate forms, verify demographics and insurance, and coordinate bed assignments. You will document and support patients, handle admissions paperwork, and maintain accurate census data in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma with 1-2 years of related office experience; Medical Terminology knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Preferred: Medical Terminology knowledge.
• 1-2 years of related office experience, data entry and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Admit patients to assigned beds and initiate admission forms.
• Verify demographics and insurance information and update records.
• Coordinate bed assignments with Nursing Supervisor and maintain census accuracy.
• Process scheduled admissions and forward charts and documents.
• Provide patient support, answer phones and route calls.
