Job summary

UHS, including its subsidiaries, is seeking a patient registration specialist to interview patients or their representatives to collect identification and demographics, verify insurance, and manage upfront payments. You will handle calls, assist with office supplies, and prepare letters and correspondence in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires 1–2 years in medical/healthcare business office, excellent customer service, and bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years medical/healthcare business office experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Computer skills required.
• Good verbal communication in English/Spanish required.
• Must follow Compliance Program and Code of Conduct guidance.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration by interviewing patients or responsible parties to obtain identification and demographics.
• Verifies insurance/other payer benefits and performs upfront collections.
• Determines eligibility and arranges admission following policies and procedures.
• Obtains signatures of responsible party and explains financial obligation; answers calls timely.
• Assist with ordering office supplies and preparing letters/correspondence.
