Job summary

Hartford Hospital, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks a Patient Administrative Associate to provide essential administrative support within the patient care team in Hartford, CT. You will communicate with clinicians, patients, and families, ensuring smooth unit operations and adherence to hospital standards.

Under RN or Unit Manager supervision, you will help with scheduling, documentation, and basic data entry, contributing to a safe and efficient patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Read, write, and speak English with basic literacy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements as specified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the patient care team under RN or Unit Manager guidance.
  • Communicate with health care team, patients, and families to relay information.
  • Contribute to unit operations in line with hospital standards and policies.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Manager of the patient unit.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.
Preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Hospital based or physician office work experience.
  • Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford Hospital
  • CPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement
