Job summary

Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an Activity Assistant PRN to help implement recreation activities and support patients through group sessions and individual contact. You will assist with activity therapy, promote patient participation, and maintain safety and supplies under supervision.

The role involves documenting interventions in the medical record and collaborating with the Clinical Director to support the patient experience and recovery within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Degree or coursework in music, art or recreation preferred.
• Minimum one year experience with psychiatric, physical rehab or medical patients.

Responsibilities

• You will report directly to the Clinical Director and implement general recreation activities with guidance from the Activity therapist.
• Assist with Activity Therapy groups and activities on and off the acute unit.
• Encourage patient participation in groups and provide emotional support as needed.
• Manage safety and orderliness of activity areas and maintain supplies.
• Document activity interventions and outcomes in the patient’s medical record per policies.
