Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) seeks a Patient Account Representative/Collector/Biller in Streamwood, IL to manage billing, follow-up and collections for assigned patient accounts by contacting patients, insurers and third-party payors to resolve balances; and to submit claims electronically or on paper.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of insurance billing and CPT coding experience; Excel and relevant hospital software experience

Experience with billing, computers, and business software (Excel) preferred.

Responsibilities

Billing, follow-up and collection of assigned patient accounts by contacting patients, insurers and third-party payors to resolve balances.
Submit claims electronically or on paper and reconcile receivables.
Complete the Medicare Bad Debt Log monthly.

Responsibilities

The Patient Account Representative/Collector/Biller is responsible for the billing, follow-up, and collection of assigned patient accounts by contacting patients, insurance companies and third-party payors to resolve all outstanding owed balances; and reconciles the receivables & contractuals from patient’s insurance companies, and third-party payors on patient accounts. This position is also responsible for the electronic or hardcopy submission of claims. The representative is also responsible for the accurate completion of the monthly Medicare Bad Debt Log.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of one (1) year experience in insurance billing and CPT coding. Any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital business office. Experience with billing, computers, and business software programs (Excel) preferred.
