Job summary

Eye-Associates-of-New-Mexico in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a full-time Patient Accounting Specialist to support revenue cycle and patient billing operations while assisting with contact lens orders. You will join a multi-disciplinary ophthalmology and optometry practice committed to quality patient care.

Responsibilities include handling patient billing inquiries, posting payments, insurer follow-up, and ensuring accurate coding and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve patient billing inquiries via phone, portal, or mail with professionalism and accuracy.
• Process adjustments, corrections, refunds, and manage outstanding patient balances.
• Handle accounts receivable, including payment posting, denials, and insurance follow-up.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to ensure timely and accurate claim reimbursement.
• Ensure compliance with billing regulations, coding standards, and internal documentation procedures.
• Manage contact lens orders, including prescription verification, vendor coordination, billing, and inventory tracking.

What You'll Do:
