Job Details:

Responsible for all billing and collection activity for assigned patient accounts, from initial claim submission to final payment and zero balance. Tasks include research, contacting patients, guarantors, insurance companies, Medicaid/Medicare, and third-party payers. Responsible for billing, payment review, account research, follow-up, corrections, rebilling, coordination with providers and payers, and processing credit balances. Oversees aging reports and uses automated health information systems. Must stay current on payer/Medicare/Medicaid billing requirements and ensure compliant billing practices. Communicates payer trends impacting revenue to supervisor.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
Experience:
  • Customer service in a call center setting (preferred)
  • Clinical denials experience (preferred)
  • EPIC experience (a plus)
  • Insurance experience
