Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Patient Account Representative to manage patient accounts and insurance follow-up in our Boise area facilities. You will generate statements, respond to patient inquiries, and ensure accurate AR reporting while supporting SCA’s values and mission.

Responsibilities include resolving denials, understanding payer contracts, and collaborating with payer relations to optimize reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Candidate MUST HAVE knowledge of medical billing, payer follow-up, payer contracts, appeals, self-pay billing, Medicare and Medicaid billing, AR posting.
• Two years’ experience in a medical office as a patient account representative or similar role.
• Experience in hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field is a MUST; familiarity with medical terminology and billing software.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Account Representative will perform thorough and timely patient account follow up with insurances to ensure accurate AR reporting and payments.
• Generate daily patient statements and handle patient calls with timely, professional responses and resolutions.
• Follow center policies, procedures, and best practices for resolution and reassignments of accounts.
• Maintain knowledge of payer contracts and explanations of benefits; collaborate with payers and centers.
• Handle denials and corrected claims, coordinating with billers and managers to resolve past-due accounts.
