Job summary

Surgical Care Affiliates, LLC (SCA Health) is seeking a Patient Account Representative to manage patient accounts receivable, follow up with insurance payers, and generate statements for timely payments. Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college; two years’ medical office experience required.
• Knowledge of medical billing, payer follow-up, payer contracts, appeals, self-pay billing, AR posting.
• Experience in a hospital or outpatient surgery center or related field is a MUST; familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Credit balance management and patient balance resolution.
• Follow up on accounts receivable and ensure accurate payments from payers or self-pay patients.
• Generate daily patient statements and respond to patient calls with timely, accurate replies.
• Work with payer relations representatives and understand ASC procedures.
• Handle denials and coordination with billers to resolve accounts, ensuring timely cash collection.
• Maintain center policies and best practices for resolution and reassignment of accounts.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and teammates.
