Guidehouse in the United States is seeking a Patient Account Representative to support healthcare revenue cycle activities. This role focuses on reviewing denied insurance claims and performing timely follow‑ups with payer accounts to ensure accurate processing and payment.

The candidate will collaborate with the team and leadership to drive improvements in the Revenue Cycle, leveraging basic health insurance knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 2+ years of relevant working experience in lieu of the education.
• 0-2+ years of working experience in healthcare, health insurance, finance or customer service.
• Working knowledge of health insurance.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in account review of denied insurance claims and account follow-up within a healthcare revenue cycle environment.
• Review denied or unpaid insurance claims, identify denial reasons, and perform timely follow up with patient’s insurance to ensure accurate claim processing and payment.
• Work closely with team, leadership, and client to work on opportunities to improve within the Revenue Cycle.

What You Will Need:

• High School Diploma or GED, or 2+ years of relevant working experience in lieu of the education.
• 0-2+ years of working experience in healthcare, health insurance, finance or customer service.
• Working knowledge of health insurance.

Nice to Have:

• Multiple payer experience in a high-volume environment.
• Basic knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and revenue cycle.
• Understanding of insurance guidelines.
• Ability to interpret Remits/EOBs (explanation of benefits).
• Basic knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word).
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
