Job summary

Harboroaks is seeking a full-time Patient Account Representative to provide financial support to clients under the direction of facility management. The role focuses on applying for state and local programs to secure funding, review claims, rebill when needed, and verify benefits.

The position requires knowledge of Excel, claims processing, and benefits verification, with a Monday–Friday daylight schedule and onsite work. HS diploma or GED is required with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Three or more years’ prior admissions and/or collections experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Call and status outstanding claims with third party payors.
  • Review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill.
  • Utilize claims clearing house to review and correct claims; resubmit electronically when available.
  • Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly.
  • Complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation.
  • Manage daily productivity via patient accounting system and productivity reports; maintain 30-40 accounts worked per day minimum.
  • Prorate patient accounts and monitor that balance due is in the correct financial class.
  • Report an overview of the week to the BOD and participate in AR meetings.
  • Gather and interpret data from system and initiate timely actions to ensure payment.
  • Assist financial counselors as needed.
  • Alert Financial Counselors and Business Office Director of all benefit eligibility matters affecting reimbursement.
  • Use COMPASS to apply for PA MA and PROMISE to check MA status.
  • Do Insurance Benefit verification; Collect copays and deductibles.
  • Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft products.

Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Patient Account Representative to provide financial support to clients under the direction of facility management. This position will primarily be responsible for working to assist clients by applying for state and local programs to ensure the most funding available.


The Patient Account Representative position: May review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill; review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly; complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation; use the state’s system (COMPASS) to apply for PA MA; use PROMISE to check the status and client’s MA; help clients obtain verifications that they will need to qualify for MA; do insurance benefit verifications; collect copays and deductibles; other duties as assigned by management.


Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Excel) is required.
Schedule: Monday - Friday (hours: daylight)
Location: This is an onsite position

Salary: Starting at $16.00/hr
