Job summary

Enloe Health Home Medical Equipment is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative for a temporary position. The role coordinates referrals and delivery of medical equipment, handling patient demographics, insurance data, authorizations, and scheduling while ensuring accurate documentation.

Strong communication with patients, physicians, and insurers is essential. The incumbent will support patient access points, verify information, and maintain detailed records, contributing to efficient care

Qualifications

• One year experience utilizing clerical, computer, and receptionist skills.
• Six months experience in a health care or related setting performing tasks such as patient registration, insurance verification, medical billing, patient DME education, or handling of DME equipment.
• Knowledge of regulations in regard to DME equipment including oxygen and sleep equipment and service.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, process referrals, and coordinate delivery of medical equipment.
• Coordinate patient events from receipt of referral to end of care, including collection of demographic and insurance information.
• Conduct prior authorizations, schedule clinical visits, verify delivery of equipment, and recertify care.

$21.82 - $29.45

• This is a temporary position**

Position Summary

The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for providing information, processing referrals, and coordinating delivery of medical equipment This entails coordinating patient events from receipt of referral to end of care, including collection of patient demographic and insurance information conducting prior authorizations, scheduling clinical visits, verifying delivery of equipment, re-certification of care, satisfaction surveys, and all other patient access points. The Representative serves as a liaison between the patient, physician, insurance company and other health care providers. The Representative is responsible to assure complete and thorough documentation.

Minimum

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

• One year experience utilizing clerical, computer, and receptionist skills
• Six months experience in a health care or related setting performing tasks, such as patient registration, insurance verification, medical billing, patient DME education, or handling of DME equipment.

Desired

• Knowledge of regulations in regard to DME equipment including oxygen and sleep equipment and service
• Medical terminology
• Previous home medical equipment billing experience or related experience desirable
• ICD-10 Coding

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Must have excellent telephone communication skills and interpersonal skills to maintain a high degree of rapport with patients, co-workers, physicians and the public. Must be able to work independently and be a self starter. Analytical skills are necessary to provide first level insight into program trends and activities. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) for a variety of support functions. Must be able to learn new functions and keep up with changing regulatory requirements. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
