Job summary

Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Washington is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to oversee registration, scheduling and financial clearance across clinic and hospital services, ensuring patients are supported through their entire care experience with excellent customer service.

The role collaborates with the Patient Access Manager to develop action plans, improve workflows, verify insurance and pre-authorizations, manage staff performance, conduct training, and monitor metrics such as

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred.
• Five years of Healthcare Patient Access experience preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and improvement of Patient Access programs, patient-care protocols, standards of care, policies and procedures.
• Develop best practices by partnering with other departments and teams to identify trends and improve patient flow.
• Schedule and register patients into applicable software systems with data accuracy and insurance verification.
• Review and approve time cards to ensure accurate employee time recording.
• Develop and deliver training for Patient Access staff on insurance and payer education.
