Position: Patient Access Supervisor Champion
Location: Mercy – Defiance Hospital, Defiance, OH (on‑site)
Compensation: $47,499 – $59,250 per year (based on experience)

Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate all registration duties with direct and indirect reporting employees; ensure daily completion of registration and pre‑registration.
- Provide and review reporting to track department performance on key metrics such as point of service, wait times, overtime, and productivity.
- Assign and coordinate staff schedule, including rotation, time off, and call‑offs, while minimizing overtime and maximizing productivity.
- Track and monitor upfront collection processes, assign goals, and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
- Perform on‑call duties during required rotations, and provide administrative and educational guidance to staff via telephone.
- Assist in developing department processes and procedures; conduct staff training, education, and development; perform audits and provide continuous coaching.
- Act as a resource person for staff and ancillary departments; promote excellent customer service and hold accountability for service excellence.
- Manage assigned projects related to implementation, tracking, and process changes; report to Leadership routinely.
- Participate in daily facility activities as assigned and gather statistical information for the department.
- Assist with staff evaluations and maintain time/attendance system.
- Attend facility and client meetings as needed to ensure process alignment and effective communication.
Employment Qualifications
- Certified Healthcare Access Management (CHAM)
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) (Company paid)
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 2 years or Associate’s Degree, or 4 years or Bachelor's Degree
- 2–3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare or business (preferred)
- Ability to lead/direct others and strong analytical skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of registration, insurance, scheduling, verification, and hospital billing
- Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and experience managing teams using AI for process improvement
