Job summary

Terrebonne General Health System is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Lab & Pathology area. You will verify patient demographics, insurance details, and pre-certifications to ensure accurate registration and timely patient flow.

In this role, you will explain hospital policies, coordinate with scheduling and nursing units, uphold patient confidentiality, and deliver friendly, professional service to diverse patients and families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Working knowledge of ICD and CPT coding.
• Experience in patient registration.
• Experience in an insurance or medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Validate and register patients' demographic, medical and financial information.
• Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and pre-certification information.
• Coordinate patient flow with scheduling, bed control, and nursing units.
• Explain hospital policies, consent forms, and insurance requirements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
• Prioritize tasks and manage high volumes of registrations with accuracy.
