San Antonio Regional Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to handle pre-registration and registration for inpatients and outpatients with accuracy and professionalism.

The role focuses on meeting the needs of patients, physicians, and the hospital by coordinating with multiple departments and ensuring smooth intake processes. Strong communication and computer skills are essential; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Two years previous work-related experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous medical billing, registration and collection experience preferred.
• Knowledge and Skills: Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with staff, patients/guarantors, insurance companies, physicians and all others. Ability to follow directions as outlined and comprehends complex issues. Strong computer skills. Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment at times of need. Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatients and outpatients during pre-registration and registration processes.
• Coordinate with patients, physicians and billing staff to ensure accurate and timely data capture and patient flow.
