Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to handle registration, determine financial class, collect insurance details and schedule patient appointments. The role also includes symptom screening of visitors and contributing to department quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of clerical experience, strong computer skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on accuracy and patient service.
Under the supervision of the Patient Access Manager; the Patient Access Specialist is responsible for performing the Patient Access function including registration of patients, rating appropriate financial class, obtaining appropriate insurance information and scheduling patient appointments while maintaining department quality standards. Specialist is also responsible for symptom and temperature screenings of hospital visitors.
