Inova Loudoun Hospital – Lansdowne (Outpatient) is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Specialist for a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1 year of patient access experience required.

Responsibilities

• Patient Intake, Registration & Documentation: manage complex cases, resolve errors, confirm authorizations, validate and index documents.
• Administrative & technology operations: prepare schedules, track records, navigate multiple systems.
• Case management tasks: coordinate documentation and follow up on tasks.
• Financial counseling: assess coverage and initiate financial assistance.
• Insurance & contract coordination: apply payer rules, resolve issues, identify contract limitations.
• Inquiries & patient concerns: resolve moderate concerns and track follow-ups.
• Kiosk: educate patients and report usage trends.
• Patient communication & advocacy: coordinate with departments and tailor messaging.
• Referrals: validate insurance and track referral status.
• Scheduling: schedule specialty visits and coordinate preparation.
• Transport: coordinate special needs transport.
• HIM coordination: resolve chart issues and assist ROI.
• Ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
