Job summary

The Associate Patient Access Representative (APAR) at CHVH Cardiac Clinic is the first contact for visitors, handling patient registration, scheduling, and financial clearance. This role supports check-ins, insurance verification, and adherence to guidelines to ensure smooth patient visits.

Responsibilities include collecting accurate demographics and insurance data, pre-registering scheduled patients in EPIC, and ensuring the completeness of the electronic health record to support timely care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years in healthcare office setting and/or strong customer service background (preferred).
• Proficient in all types of registrations (inpatient, outpatient, and emergency).
• Completes Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers in a timely manner when applicable.
• Ability to monitor and perform patient hospital and/or ambulatory movement.
• Verifies CMS standards coverage and eligibility information to the patient.
• Accurately identifies and enters patient demographics, insurance, and financial information.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient registrations and check-ins.
• Perform financial clearance and payment collection.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
• Verify insurance and benefits information.
• Ensure completeness of the electronic health record (EHR) for visits.
