Jane Pauley is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) that provides consistent healthcare to individuals regardless of income or insurance status. We have 18 facilities across 4 counties in the greater Indiana area, committed to caring for our communities.

Job Summary

The Patient Access Specialist ensures timely access for patients to provider services. Responsibilities include managing patient calls professionally, collecting accurate data, and matching patients with accessible solutions to ensure excellent customer service. The role may offer work-from-home options, requiring a minimum internet speed of 25-50 Mbps.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Answer, triage, and process requests for new patient appointments with primary and specialty providers, respecting patient preferences and insurance plans.
  2. Collect and verify patient and insurance demographics.
  3. Coordinate with provider offices to transfer information and enhance patient experience.
  4. Document all scheduled appointments and referrals accurately.
  5. Efficiently handle a high volume of requests without compromising service quality.
  6. Promote cooperation and participate in performance improvement activities.
  7. Maintain professionalism in all communications.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting using scheduling software.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Call center experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred; must complete Bridging the Gap Program within one year if bilingual.
