Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a customer service agent for services provided to eligible patients through Central Registration, Medical Records and The Compliance Office.
• Floats to various units as determined by the unit manager.
• Maintains medical records to ensure compliance with State, Federal, University and UHS requirements.
• Routes documents for review and supports contingency record maintenance.
• Assists in archiving and retrieval of medical records and in processing authorizations for records release and subpoenas.
• Checks in patients, determines eligibility, and updates EMR with current insurance information.
• Communicates policies to patients and parents about payment options and insurance filing.
• Assists with immunization clearance processes and records.
• Provides information and support to students and parents regarding campus health insurance plan.
• Participates on committees and performs special projects as assigned.
• Other related duties as assigned.
