Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and two years of experience.
• Must meet certification and license requirements as outlined in Chapter 458, Florida Statues.
• Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides outpatient general medical primary care to eligible patients, following approved guidelines.
• Performs complete physical examinations and diagnostic examinations for illnesses and injuries.
• Initiates laboratory tests, x-rays and other procedures as medically necessary.
• May perform indicated minor surgical and non-invasive procedures.
• Confers with physician regarding patient management when appropriate.
• Documents medical history, physical and emotional state, diagnostic findings, and treatment in the patient's EMR.
• Reviews and discusses tests and examination results with patient.
• Counsels and instructs patient regarding current complaint.
• Monitors medication and initiates therapies under physician direction.
