Job summary

Lakeview Center seeks a Central Access Specialist to support screening and access across program areas. You will coordinate with the Central Client Registration team, gather initial screening information, and refer clients to Clinical Assessment Specialists.

You will ensure timely scheduling of initial appointments and maintain knowledge of all program areas and provider networks. The role requires an AA or equivalent with experience, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • AA degree in area of responsibility with 3 years of medical/business office experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED with 5 years related experience
  • Working knowledge of clinical/business practice requirements related to access to services
  • Understanding of insurance authorizations and practice requirements is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with good criteria and decision-making skills
  • Proficient internet/computer skills and Microsoft Office to complete tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to follow agency policies and procedures and maintain accuracy
  • Must pass state/federal background screening as appropriate

Overview:

The position of Central Access Specialist is an integral part of the Central Access/ Business Area. This position's responsibilities are to participate as a member of the Access Team to support the centralize screening and access to the program areas. To coordinate with the Central Client Registration (CCR) team to manage access scheduling, gathering initial screening information and provide support for the Central Access Assessment teams. This position will manage customer services, gather initial screening information related to why the client is seeking services, and coordinate the initial referral to the Clinical Assessment Specialist. Following the completions of the assessment the initial appointment will be scheduled with the identified program provider. This position is expected to maintain a working knowledge of all program areas, CCR registration, and verifying provider network status prior to scheduling the clinical or medical initial appointment. The position must ensure all daily tasks are completed timely to support the needs of the Central Access Teams and ensure quality customer service.

Assignments/tasks are expected to be executed with considerable independence and maintain compliance with established facility policies and procedures, contract requirements, organization bylaws, and federal and state regulations/laws.

Role Requirements:
  • Associate (AA) degree within area of position responsibility with (3) years of relevant medical / business office experience OR;
  • High school diploma or GED with five (5) years related experience may be substituted.
  • Must have working knowledge of clinical/business practice requirements related to access to services.
  • Understanding of insurance authorizations and practice requirements is considered a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with good criterial thing and decision-making skills.
  • Must have proficient internet/computer skills and use of Microsoft Office to complete tasks.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must have the ability to able to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication to include letters, memos and emails.
  • Ability to work within the guidelines established in the policies and procedures of the agency and assigned program division.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with a high level of accuracy while demonstrating the ability to resist distractions.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state and federal background screening as appropriate.
Compensation:

Salary Range for this position is $17.50 - $18.75 per hour. Salary is based on experience.
