Patient Access Specialist - Boulder Heart
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303

$19.00 - $26.38 an hour - Full-Time Days, 40 hours per week

Boulder Community Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist who, under general supervision, greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors.

Qualifications:

  1. High School graduate or GED preferred
  2. Prefer one-year reception experience
  3. At least six months coding experience preferred
  4. Word processing and computer experience preferred

Responsibilities:

  1. Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  2. Checks in patients; verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record and into the computer. Checks out patients.
  3. Collects payments from patients.
  4. Assists patients with questions about their accounts.
  5. Escorts patients to exam rooms or labs when needed.
  6. Closes Cash Drawer at the close of business.
  7. Schedules patient appointments in the HER, following office scheduling policies.
  8. Maintains lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
  9. Answers phone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
  10. Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information.
