Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Proficient typing/keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor and enters it in the system.
• Explains required forms to patients and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining data and signatures.
• Collects patient liability, discusses payment options and screens for eligibility.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and completes notifications and authorizations in a timely manner.
• Posts payments and generates patient receipts.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, departments, insurance companies, patients and families and documents thoroughly.
• Adheres to MH policies and standards within budget and time constraints.
• Promotes staff development and acts as a mentor when needed.
• Delivers compassionate, personalized experiences to patients and colleagues.
