Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting.
• Proficient typing/keyboarding skills.
• Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor and enters it in the system with high accuracy.
• Explains all required forms to patients or guarantors and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining data, reviewing systems, and obtaining signatures.
• Collects patient liability, discusses payment options and screens for eligibility to protect financial integrity.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and completes notifications and authorizations within timeframes.
• Posts payments and generates patient receipts in the system.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with Physicians, departments, staff, insurers, patients and families; documents thoroughly.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, standards, budget, time management, and quality of service.
• Promotes professional growth, serves as preceptor or mentor to staff, and supports department goals.
• Demonstrates compassionate and personalized experiences for every community member.
