Memorial Hermann is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Access Associate to schedule appointments, verify medical necessity and eligibility, and post payments. You will operate in a fast-paced hospital environment, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with policy while delivering compassionate service to patients.

The role requires good communication with patients, families, physicians and insurance providers, accurate documentation, and timely follow-up on outstanding items.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting
• Ability to multi-task
• Proficient typing/keyboard skills
• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Responsabilités

• Schedules patient appointments and enters information accurately in the computer system
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor
• Explains forms to patients/guarantors and obtains signatures
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining data and sharing with patients/guarantors
• Collects patient liability, discusses payment options and screens for eligibility
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and completes required notifications
• Posts payments in the system and generates receipts
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports
• Communicates professionally with physicians, departments, insurance companies, patients and families
• Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and budgetary guidelines
• Supports staff development and serves as a mentor when needed
• Demonstrates compassionate, personalized service to every member of the community
• Performs other duties as assigned

Connaissances
