Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking an Access Center Specialist I to manage clinical and non-clinical calls, schedule patients, perform basic triage and referral management. You will collaborate with the Access Center team and practice staff to meet access, revenue cycle and scheduling goals while delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in patient care or related setting strongly preferred.
  • CHAA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answers all telephone calls within your work assignment as designated by leadership with the goals of accurately scheduling patients.
  • Evaluates non-scheduling related patient inquiries including clinical questions and routes/escalates accordingly.
  • Assesses caller needs and provides appropriate resolution or escalation.
  • Utilizes Salesforce and Genesys to optimize patient interactions and workflow efficiency.
  • Proactively monitor areas of concern related to Epic build issues and suggest resolutions.
  • Understand Epic scheduling workflows and follow Rush protocols for scheduling.
