Responsibilities

• Answers calls at the operator desk and routes them appropriately.
• Takes hospital consultations and relays information to the physician.
• Schedules appointments per patient need or provider referral.
• Verifies patient demographics and insurance data for billing purposes.
• Monitors delinquent balances prior to scheduling.
• Reschedules appointments as needed, coordinating with the scheduling team.
• Coordinates with insurance verification to ensure in-network coverage or authorization.
• Obtains out-of-network authorizations when necessary for new patients.
• Assists callers in problem solving and directs to the correct contact.
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of insurance carriers.
