Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Urology is seeking a Clinic Services Specialist to help ensure efficient delivery of health care services and an excellent patient experience. Responsibilities include scheduling using EPIC, assisting with check-in, guiding patient flow, and handling inquiries with service-excellence focus.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), 6 months to 1 year of administrative experience, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Six months to one year of related administrative experience.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Experience in customer service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with EPIC is desirable.
• Knowledge of University of Iowa Health Care policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and tests using EPIC.
• Assist with patient check-in and greet patients.
• Direct patients to waiting areas and provide directions.
• Answer clinic calls and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-insurance and co-pays at check-in per policy.
• Support staff with scheduling issues and communications.
• Provide training to new staff and update documentation.
