Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors upon arrival using Creating SMILES and AIDET principles
Assist patients with check-in/check-out
Answer phone within three rings and direct calls per protocol
Document messages in telephone encounters and route per protocol
Enter hospital charges into electronic billing system with accuracy and timeliness
Assess patient eligibility for referral by verifying payer coverage
Document eligibility in the EHR per protocol
Schedule appointments per protocol
Demonstrate judgment when scheduling provider’s template
Verify and document coverage of services prior to patient visit
Monitor account and patient work queues weekly and take corrective action
Ensure EHR is complete and ready for provider use
Collect and disseminate mail and deliveries as per protocol
Monitor returned mail work queue and correct in billing system within 14 days
Respiratory fit testing required as part of safety standards
