Qualifications

• High School education or GED preferred.
• Associate/Technical degree in business, healthcare or computer science preferred.
• Experience in hospital admitting/clerical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone, takes messages and directs calls; admits patients into clinic and handles registration tasks.
• Prepares charts, processes forms, verifies insurance and collects demographics for visits.
• Schedules appointments, coordinates referrals and assists with billing and documentation as needed.
• Maintains department records, orders supplies and supports outpatient operations.
• Ensures waiting areas are neat and communicates with patients and staff as needed.

Education

High School Education/GED or equivalent

Associate’s/Technical Degree in business, healthcare or computer science or equivalent combination of education/related experience
