CHI Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduler to schedule patients for hospital-based services and manage inbound/outbound calls, pre-registration, and insurance/documentation requirements. A high level of attention to detail and a friendly phone manner is essential.

Responsibilities include accurate scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, and providing patients with clear instructions for scheduled services. A student loan repayment program is offered.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a hospital environment, medical terminology, knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 codes.
• Preferred: one year of patient scheduling or patient access experience.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Access Scheduler, you will schedule patients for hospital-based services.

Every day you will handle inbound calls and fax requests, make outbound calls to schedule patients, pre-register scheduled patients, and make sure required provider orders, referrals, and insurance requirements are obtained and documented accurately.

To be successful in this role, you will bring scheduling experience, attention to detail, and a clear, friendly phone manner.

• Accurately schedules patient appointments, exams, and visits in a timely and professional manner.
• Performs pre-registration by obtaining complete and accurate patient demographic, clinical, and insurance information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and identifies authorization or referral requirements as applicable to scheduling.

Required
