The Role

Patient Access Representative

The Opportunity

MaineGeneral Health has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of Patient Access Representative Professionals. At MGH we believe in a team atmosphere where there is room to learn and grow within the department as well as the organization!

The Work
  • Performs financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with point-of-service (POS) services
  • Meets with patient or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Explains the process and addresses concerns and questions
  • Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization, and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up
  • Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
You Have
  • Relevant customer service experience
  • Excellent and demonstrated communication skills
  • 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
Compensation Information

$18.25 - $31.94

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
