Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an attentive admissions clerk to process patient preadmission and admission data, including demographics and insurance details, in our hospital information system. This role is in the Patient Admissions Department and focuses on data accuracy and policy compliance.

You will coordinate with patients, financial counselors and the hospital accounting team, ensuring adherence to state, federal and MUSC procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 1 year experience in customer service, health care or a business related field.
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations preferred.
  • Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing preferred.
