Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Roseburg, Oregon is seeking a Patient Access Representative to serve as the primary contact for patient registration across multiple hospital access points. You will verify demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits while maintaining accurate records in the electronic health record.

You will scan and organize patient documentation, explain financial responsibilities, collect payments when appropriate, and schedule or adjust appointments to support high-volume

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year healthcare experience in patient access preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient registration procedures, health insurance payers and real-time eligibility verifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient registration functions across assigned access points, ensuring accurate demographic information, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, and complete, confidential documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Accurately scan, index, and manage patient documentation to support registration, billing, and clinical workflows.
  • Communicate patient financial responsibility using established education tools and scripts and collect payments at the time of service as appropriate.
  • Schedule, confirm, and revise patient appointments.
  • Identify and resolve routine registration, insurance, and encounter discrepancies.
  • Provide patient-facing support via telephone and other approved communication channels.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Patient Access Representative, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patient registration, managing demographic and insurance data across various hospital access points to ensure accurate record-keeping.

Every day, you will utilize multiple complex systems to document patient information, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and support high-volume workflows to maintain seamless hospital operations.

To be successful in this role, you will collaborate effectively with the healthcare team and provide compassionate, compliant service to patients and families while upholding the organization’s core mission and values.

Job Requirements
Required
