Job summary

U.S. Urology Partners is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, manage check-in and check-out, and answer calls with courtesy and professionalism. The role includes reviewing charts, updating insurance details, and handling payments in a compliant environment.

The position requires a High School Diploma, at least one year of medical office or health insurance experience, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Travel to other clinics may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Manages patient check-in/checkout process.
  • Answers calls regarding appointment times, patient requests and general inquiries.
  • Reviews patient charts for accuracy before upcoming appointments and ensures required information is included.
  • Performs scanning and sorting within the EMR system.
  • Verifies and updates current insurance information with the patient.
  • Collects patient payments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About the RoleThe Patient Access Representative position is responsible for greeting and assisting patients in a prompt, courteous , and professional manner and receiving/answering incoming telephone calls in the same manner , as applicable . The Patient Access Representative is to be cross-trained in all aspects of reception to supply sufficient coverage . Certain duties may vary based on office location and department structure.What You’ll Be DoingGreets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner .Effectively handles the patient check-in/checkout process.Answers calls addressing appointment times, patient requests and general inquiries within the scope of their position.Reviews patient’s chart for accuracy prior to upcoming appointment and ensures all required information is included for the physician to see the patient.Performs scanning and sorting within EMR systemVerifies and updates current insurance information with the PatientCollects Patient paymentsPerforms all other duties as assigned.What We Expect from YouHigh School DiplomaInteract professionally and positively with all patients, colleagues, managers and executive teamExhibit a high degree of maturity, integrity, loyalty, creativity, and strict confidentiality with HIPPA compliance in all daily tasks.One year of experience working in a medical practice or in a health insurance organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPrior use of EMR systems preferredTravel to other clinics as neededReasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
