Job summary

Ascension is seeking a patient access coordinator in Milwaukee, WI within the Premier Radiology department. You will gather demographic and insurance information and schedule procedures to optimize patient time and clinical resources.

You will assist with insurance pre-certification/authorization and provide counseling on pre-service requirements. This is a full-time day shift role with eligibility for Ascension benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Note: professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Gather demographic, insurance and clinical information from patient and enter into appropriate database.
• Schedule patient procedures to efficiently use patient time and clinical resources.
• Assist with coordination of activities related to insurance pre-certification/authorization.
• Provide counseling to patient, participant or their representative regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Gather necessary demographic, insurance and clinical information from patient and enters into appropriate database. Seek appropriate resources to resolve issues about the type, date or location of prescribed procedures.
• Schedule patient procedures in a manner that most efficiently utilizes the patient's time and clinical resources. Coordinate and communicates schedules.
• Assist with coordination of activities related to insurance pre-certification/authorization.
• Provide counseling to patient, participant or their representative regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
