Job Title: Patient Access Representative

Shift: 8-4:30pm or 8:30a-5p

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • BILH Coversheet Required
  • Patient Access/Administrative Skills Checklist
  • COVID Vaccines + Booster (declinations not accepted)
  • Local candidates required
  • No recent employment at Beth Israel facilities within the past 6 months

Experience:

Prior experience in a customer service role within a business setting, handling electronic demographic, financial, or related data.

Responsibilities:

  • Register patients, explain processes, and answer questions.
  • Process payments, safeguard cash, and reconcile cash drawer daily.
  • Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjust coverage accordingly.
  • Obtain signatures on necessary documents, scan, and record them.
  • Counsel patients on non-covered services and obtain signatures on ABNs, waivers, etc.
  • Monitor waiting area, inform patients of delays, and ensure a positive experience.
  • Complete registrations for inpatient units missing information.
  • Respond to patient concerns and safety issues following protocols.
  • Maintain a neat registration area and secure patient information.
