Description:

Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our ED team.

Schedule:

PRN based on department needs. Must have open M-F daytime availability, weekends, and flexibility for shifts from 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet, pre-register, and register patients courteously and professionally.
  • Verify insurance benefits and check for pre-certification, authorization, and referral needs.
  • Perform medical necessity checks as needed.
  • Secure patient signatures for hospital forms and collect financial responsibilities when applicable.
  • Provide quality customer service and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Coordinate services and communicate revenue cycle issues with patients, physicians, staff, and colleagues.
  • Rotate through various areas of patient access and work different shifts as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in insurance verification and medical office/hospital customer service.
