Patient Access Rep in Olathe - Full Time, Part Time & PRN

Position Details

Location: Olathe Medical Center Main Hospital, 20333 W. 151st St.

Position Summary

The Patient Access Representative greets patients and visitors at outpatient registration areas. They are the first point of contact and are responsible for obtaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring proper reimbursement, and handling financial communications professionally.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet customers courteously and promptly.
  2. Verify patient information, obtain signatures, and update records accurately.
  3. Manage appointment scheduling, including reminders and adjustments.
  4. Answer and route calls efficiently, taking complete messages when necessary.
  5. Collect co-pays and outstanding balances, and balance daily payments.
  6. Serve as a liaison between patients and staff, assisting with insurance and scheduling needs.
  7. Check out patients and schedule future appointments.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area.
  9. Accurately enter clinical information into the EMR as assigned.
  10. Participate as a team member within the Patient Centered Medical Home.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned, based on department needs.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a related role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience.
