Brown University Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to handle front desk duties, patient registration, and data entry for reimbursement. You will greet clients, schedule appointments, verify benefits, and manage authorizations in a team-focused environment that values compassion and collaboration.
Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least one year working with third-party payers or in a human services setting, plus comfort with computer systems.
The Patient Access Rep works as a member of a team assigned to perform front deskfunctions, client registration and the collection of information necessary to ensure reimbursement for services. Acts as a receptionist greeting all clients and visitors. Makes appointments and reminder calls for multiple providers. Maintains the front desk schedules and performs daily preparation activities. Collects necessary information, e.g. income verification, voter registration, currentcare registration, demo updates.
Verifies benefits with insurance carriers and enters the information into CMHC. Obtains and monitors authorizations and reimbursement processes. Maintains specific client data electronically, e.g. current care # Records co-pay information and electronically enters cash receipt. Participates in the development of procedures to enhance current practices Processes reports for specific data. Performs light secretarial duties Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. At least one-year experience in working with Third Party Payers and/or one-year support experience in a human service office environment. Must be comfortable working in a computer environment.
This position requires minimum physical exertion. There may be some light lifting involved in the day-to-day performance of the job.
Uses and accesses information in client’s health information record or about a client only as necessary to actual duties and then only in accordance with access levels assigned to this position by Gateway Healthcare Inc. from time-to-time and in accordance with Gateway Healthcare Inc. policies, rules, and procedures as adopted by Gateway Healthcare Inc. from time-to-time.
