Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a patient registration specialist to provide exceptional front-desk service. You will gather patient information, verify insurance coverage, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in a patient-facing role.

Responsibilities include updating consents, documenting activities, reviewing plans and benefits, handling pre-authorizations, and supporting junior staff. This onsite position operates Monday–Friday with a 2:00pm–6:00pm shift.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Experience: 1-2 years in patient registration or healthcare admin
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
• Experience with EHR systems and registration software
• Strong communication and detailed organizational abilities
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and efficiently, gather information
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients
• Obtain consents and signatures per regulatory guidelines
