Job summary

Gundersen Health System in Onalaska, Wisconsin, invites you to join as a Registration Specialist. You will greet patients, collect and verify demographics, and facilitate virtual visits to ensure smooth scheduling and billing.

This full-time role requires excellent customer service, strong phone skills, and accuracy. Remote eligibility is available after training.

Starting pay is $17.93 per hour with benefits, a retirement plan, and growth opportunities within our mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 1 year experience in an office setting requiring customer service responsibilities, telephone and computer competency.
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills.
  • Insurance background is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential phone support to both internal and external customers, assisting with the registration of new patients and facilitating virtual visits.
  • Ensure accurate registration, secure demographic information, and communicate patient liability prior to services, enabling timely claims processing.
  • Manage various registration and billing work queues to identify and rectify any discrepancies.

Job Details
  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
  • Full-time (1.0 FTE)
  • Monday - Friday, 6:30am – 5:00pm (no weekends or major holidays)
  • Remote eligible after completion of training
  • Location: Onalaska
Responsibilities
