Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems.
• Experience with hospital registration and insurance verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process inpatient and outpatient admissions accurately and efficiently.
• Gather information and input data in the registration process and register patients promptly.
• Ensure patient or guardian signs all required paperwork.
• Offer privacy practices and patient rights information to patients.
• Verify insurance coverage for patients.
• Obtain and scan patient driver’s license and insurance cards.
• Handle cash collections and collect co-pays and deductibles at point of service.
• Ensure payable diagnosis for Medicare tests or obtain ABN when applicable.
• Respond promptly to patient inquiries and balance cash receipts daily.
