The Patient Services Representative I at Advocate Health is responsible for completing patient registrations, collecting and validating demographic and insurance information, obtaining pre-certifications as required, and entering data into the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist ADT system.

The PSR informs patients of estimated liabilities, collects due amounts, and refers those needing financial assistance to a counselor.

Competenze

  • High school diploma or GED required; patient access experience preferred.
  • Experience with ADT systems and payer requirements is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA and pre-certification processes.

Mansioni

  • Greets patients and manages flow to ensure efficient service.
  • Verifies demographics and insurance; completes registration for walk-ins.
  • Verifies benefits; collects liabilities and requests past balances.
  • Follows Financial Clearance policy when clearance/authorization is pending.
  • Identifies patients needing assistance and refers to Financial Counselor.
  • Performs visit closure and schedules follow-ups with proper documentation.
  • Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and guidelines.
  • Meets productivity and accuracy targets; collaborates with staff.
